Friends!

Save the date – Invitation to follow:

The BAZAAR! Crawl Space’s annual throw-down fundraiser party
Saturday, November 17th from 6-9pm at Crawl Space
$25 with open bar, food, dancing and art

The BAZAAR! is our only fundraiser in 2007, the only time we’re asking all
of our people to come out and support Crawl Space. We need each of you to
help us grow our programming, and keep the lights on and the rent paid!

2007 has been an incredibly effective and inventive year for Crawl Space,
challenging early-career artists with monthly exhibits, our first
international juried exhibition, a new intensive residency program, and
developing a strategic plan to keep the gallery influential and valuable
to the arts community for years to come. We are all so thankful to you
and our community for your consistent support!

Join us on November 17th for an evening of drinks, dancing, hors d'oeuvres
from local gourmets, festooned servers (e.g. Brazilian Carnival meets Euro
club kids), and a preview of this year’s exhibition of current works by
Crawl Space member-artists. This zany, lively event helps to cover a
significant portion of yearly rent, utilities, and programming costs that
our member artists aren't able to cover out-of-pocket. The Bazaar! will be
hosted and attended by SAM Curator of Modern & Contemporary Art Michael
Darling, pioneering video artist Gary Hill, and a superstar Booster Club
of Crawl Space fans.

Pushing boundaries with quality shows has won Crawl Space accolades and
awards from local and regional press, including the 2006 Stranger Genius
“Shortlist” award for Arts Organization. According to critic Regina
Hackett in the July 1, 2006 Seattle Post-Intelligencer, “What
distinguishes Crawl Space is quality. On a shoestring with only their
peers as contacts, these artists have built serious credibility fast.”

Here’s our chance to keep it going - and party it up with gourmet food,
copious beverages, costumed club kids, new art, and the amazing people who
love Crawl Space!

I hope to see you on the 17th! If you aren’t able to make the event, we
are still grateful for your donation.

Diana

Note: All donations to Crawl Space are tax-deductible. Please make checks
out to the Shunpike (nonprofit fiscal sponsor) with "Crawl Space" in the
memo line. Thank you!

Crawl Space Bio
Crawl Space was founded by in 2003 by six working artists hoping to
further the creation and exhibition of innovative artwork by early career
artists in the region. With the current steering of its director and
tight-knit base of artist members, Crawl Space has developed a unique
system of ownership where member and guest artists plan, fund, and staff
their own exhibitions and those of their peers. Focusing on large-scale
and interactive installations, and work using experimental processes,
exhibition formats, and materials, the gallery challenges early career
artists to develop diverse and influential new art.

Mission Statement
Crawl Space is a nonprofit artist-run exhibition space dedicated to
cultivating influential and inventive artwork by emerging artists and
inciting community interest in the visual arts. We work to build on the
innovation our region's art community by challenging artists in their
early careers.
