What to do.... what to do....
Well, it's that time of the year again, and instead of being completely
self-absorbed, doing only what I want, and demanding everybody's attendance,
this year, I decided to just have as much fun as I can possibly have with as
many people whom I enjoy.
Let me preface by saying that my "real" birthday is Nov. 19th, a Monday in
2007. That's why I will eschew my "real" birthday in favor of a near
relative, November 17th, which is a Saturday in 2007.
Here's what I've come up with:
I know I want to race. Most people don't necessarily like racing, and it
ain't cheap, but I'm the sort of person who likes friendly competition and
going fast in a pony-strength race car, a.k.a. go karting. These are not
like the little kiddie karts like in the family fun center - these are
freakin' fast! Of course, if you weigh as much or much more than me, you
can't really open them up like somebody skinny, like a skinny little
emaciated girl, or a skinny little Russian Jewish guy, can.
Anyway, I would like to meet at a Kart track (there's one it Tukwila,
nearish to Ikea, and one in Tacoma - we'll most likely go to the nearest
one), and we will race at least once. This is totally optional, and I will
race all by myself if nobody else shows. However, if another person shows,
we will have two ways to win! Best over-all time, and single best lap-time,
and as some of you can attest, these two accomplishments are not bound
Later, I would like to meet for cheap food, pitchers of ale, pool
(billiards, if you will), shuffle-board, darts, and perhaps some arcade
goodness. I'm trying to avoid Gameworks (duh), and other kiddie places, but
that's the kind of fun I want to have. Kid fun. I don't want to shit my
diapers, or anything, but frolicking in a whimsical way, oblivious to the
stresses of the 30+ world. So, the Zoo Tavern in Eastlake seems like the
most likely rendezvous. Pizza, beer, billiards, sharp flying things. Fun.
So, anyway, let me know if you're in for the afternoon race and I'll make
sure I get "reservations" or whatever, so in that regard, RSVP. Otherwise,
call my cell phone and I'll tell you when and where I'm meeting up for
parlor games: 206.914.7965
Last time I raced, it was $20 for about 12 minutes. I'm in for at least
that, especially if I have challengers.
Karting @ 2:00 pm
Zoo Tavern @ 6 pm
Really fuckin' old @ 31
