911 MediaArtsCenter presents: VJ Night
Hosted by VJ scobot
Musical Direction by Hyasynth(De La Crème)

Thursday, August 16th, 8:30 - 10:00PM
special guest: Xiayu

Please join us this month when we welcome in Jason Louie (aka Xiayu),
veteran VJ, who is sure to be bringing in the biggest, most bad-ass VJ rig
you've ever seen (plus, it is rumored he may even be doing his own audio
too, so even more gear!) - this is an excellent opportunity to hear how he
goes about creating his art and witness how he puts it all together.

About Xiayu:
Jason Louie (aka Xiayu) has performed shows all along the west coast from
California to Canada. He has been running Subliminal Imaging (created in
2000, by Jesse Williams-Proudman) for 6 years. Jason has produced music
for the local group Maverick Enough, has held residencies at NoiseLab and
The Last Supper Club, and is the preferred VJ for the Drum and Bass room
at USC’s local massive’s for the past 6 years. Jason currently uses
Resolume on his custom made PC and has also custom built his rack mount,
among various other gear used.
Jason’s upcoming shows include “Back to Basic’s” on August 11th,
2007 and the Crystal Method show coming up in September. For more info,
please visit: http://subliminalimaging.com/

NEWS:
MARK YOUR CALENDARS: VJ NIGHT, September 20th: "VIDEO OUT"
Please join us for a very special screening of the excellent VJ
documentary, "Video Out" by Paul Vlachos and Meredith Finkelstein (13Bit
Productions, www.13bit.com ). Mark you calendars, you won't want to miss
this!! Plus we'll be getting a sneak peak at their latest documentary,
"Lumia".

Upcoming "ON SCREEN"
Look for an article about VJing, written by Adrian MacDonald, in the
upcoming "ON SCREEN" magazine.

Thank YOU
Thanks again to everyone who came out to last month's VJ NIGHT! Even
though the event did not turn out as expected, the "round table
discussion" of VJing and the future of new media, fueled by you enthusiasm
and insights, made for a truly enjoyable (and thought provoking) evening!
Thank you!
